Critique assignment:

Using the theories we've discussed in class, I am asking you to critique three Web sites (choose from a TV news Web site, newspaper Web site, blog or general news Web site). Please step outside the box and really explore some sites we DID NOT discuss in class.

For each, point out the site's strengths and weaknesses. If you'd like to reference to a competitor's site during an evaluation, that's OK.

Again, I'm stressing you stick to the ideas we have discussed about Web design, the interface, usability, etc. In your actual write-up, please incorporate markup tags we have been working on in class.

As for length, I'd like you to be thorough, but stay on track. Looking for a word count? You should aim for at least 1,000 words.

How will I grade this? Well, before I tell you that, I will remind you this is 10% of your overall grade. I'm looking for a few things: Your thoughts, grammar, presentation and whether or not you accomplish the goal of this assignment.

When is it due? February 21. That's a Thursday and it must be by 11:59 p.m. One minute late and it's a no-go.
